“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
I think we address the fruits of the Spirit in almost every session of #theFives, but here is why:
It is the key to living a fruitful life in God!
We can’t achieve anything He has asked us to achieve without the Spirit filling us with His tools for building a holy life. Who wouldn’t want more peace? Raise your hand if you could use a healthy dose of patience! We all need the gifts God offers if we want to be free from our strongholds. Even we we are tired from praying at 5am, we can have self-control and choose to go to bed earlier the next night. Or we can experience joy in deeply sorrowful situations. Thankfully God gives us every good gift we need!
1.) Today is a time to be childlike. Ask God what being childlike looks like for you, and do that tiny thing to start your prayer time. No excuses!
2.) Good children do what their parents ask, and we are God’s children. When kids need something, they ask their parents for it. What have you been holding back from God, refusing His help?
3.) Sit in the quiet and ask God to fill you to overflowing with one of these spiritual gifts- or better yet- all of them! Let God fill you with all He has today, not interrupting your time together by cutting him off early.
