What is God’s plan for me?

WEEK TWO
DAY EIGHT
“During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.“
Hebrews 5:7
Yesterday may have been a tough day for some of you. God may have shown you areas where you made plans that are not His plans or clung to promises He never gave. The death of a dream or what you believed to be a promise can be painful and hard. It is okay to be sad and mourn the loss of what you thought “would be.” Ultimately, God redirects us because He knows what is best for us, not because He wants to punish or control us.

Submission of our whole life brings peace with God. I give up my right to be or do whatever I want in exchange for God’s perfect plan. Maybe some of you are already there! Submission of your dreams or plans was an easy step, or you found that you were already in-line with what God had. For others, submission has been a process of fighting and releasing the grip you have over people, places, and things. Today, it is time to do the right thing and finally submit it all to God.
LET’S PRAY
1.) Take time to sit in silence. If there is any unfinished business from Monday or Tuesday, today is the day to hear from God. Don’t assume what He has to say is bad or mean! He may have sweet things to say that you are blocking because of your own assumptions.
2.) Ask God for a definition of “submission.” Submission isn’t repressed rebellion. It isn’t secretly resenting the one to which you are submitting. It doesn’t mean you no longer matter. Write down what God says to you, and use your Bible to research verses on submission. What do they speak to you?
3.) Soak in this song for the last moments of your prayer time.
