Rebuilding

WEEK FIVE
DAY TWENTY-TWO
“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.”
Galatians 6:1
What happens when we have done the hard work of repenting, forgiving, lamenting, and the other person still doesn’t want to restore the relationship? The hard truth is not every relationship is repairable! Living at peace with someone and having a relationship with them is not the same thing. Relationships require two people, and both have to choose to pursue the other in order for it to grow.

When the other person doesn’t choose to seek peace with us, we cannot start the cycle of bitterness all over again. We are still responsible for our own behavior. Do not allow someone else’s unwillingness to forgive draw you back into sin. Forgiveness isn’t a choice we make one time– it is ongoing! You have to decide each day to live in peace without allowing others’ behaviors to influence you.
LET’S PRAY
1.) Have you felt justified in treating someone poorly because of the way you’ve been treated? Repent of your behavior and allow God to heal your heart in this area.
2.) Read Philippians 4:12-13. Ask God to reveal what it looks like to be content in Him.
3.) Sit quietly. Listen to God and enjoy your time with Him! Write down anything you think He is saying.

Thank you
Absolutely! It is our honor to serve you.
