Today is a day to celebrate!! It’s Friday, we made it through the hardest week of #theFives, and our God offers us HEALING for anything we need. Why wouldn’t today be the greatest day ever?
“His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him.”
-Acts 28:8
A man was sick. Another man visits him, prays, places his hands on him, and he is healed.
WHAT?!
I am always blown away by the simplicity of God. We make everything so complicated, don’t we? We try so hard to “fix” our past wounds, emotionally and physically. God’s healing is always simple- a deep faith, a simple prayer, a gentle touch.
Often times, we need healing and don’t even know it. We tend to carry an unnecessary weight that we can’t quite pin down. “Why do I feel like this? Why don’t I smile more? I just feel heavy.” Spiritual sickness affects us more in the physical than we realize, but prayer can bring healing.
God can heal us of physical sickness as well. It may not look the way we want it to, and He may not move as quickly as we like, but He cares for us and sees our need. Sometimes He uses the prayers of another believer to bring about healing, just like he did with Paul. Other times He uses medication or medical intervention to do the work. Even still, He uses death to bring the ultimate healing to a believer hurting from sickness. God is always in the business of healing.
Let’s pray:
1.) It’s time for your check up. Sit still this morning and take mental inventory of how you have been feeling lately. Write down the emotional and physical ailments you are facing. Ask God to reveal any you may be overlooking.
2.) Read Proverbs 3:7-8, Proverbs 12:4, Proverbs 14:30, Proverbs 15:30, Proverbs 16:24, Proverbs 17:22. You should notice a pattern. Our spiritual health is directly connected to our physical health. Though sickness is not always a sign of sin, it can be.
3.) Ask about each symptom listed above, “God, is this the result of a physical hurt or a spiritual hurt?” Your chest pains may very well be from heart issues, but it may also be the result of emotional trauma. Only God can show you the truth. Wanna know something else cool? Even if it IS physical, God can heal that, too. Just ask Him to. Ask a friend to lay hands on you and pray for you today, just like Paul did. It isn’t weird- it’s biblical! I have seen God heal people right before my eyes.
**You are always free to share in the comments below what God reveals to you. If you experience a healing today, please share so we can ALL praise God for how He worked!
Jesus has healed me from harshness. He wants to bring on a more kind loving sweet lady!
YES! God has made me more sweet since I started this prayer journey. It doesn’t come naturally for me 😉
Ironically I’ve been fighting a bad back injury since early December. I herniated 2 discs and tore one of them. To make an extremely long story short a few weeks ago I posted to social media asking for prayers from my tribe. I was amazed at the support and hours after my call for prayer I was sitting in a doctors office discussing options. (This appointment hadn’t been scheduled) I had a pain injection this past Monday And today is the first day I really feel like my old self again.
God is still in the business of healing AND answering prayers!!
Thank you for sharing your story! I am praying for complete healing!
