“At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.”
Prayer for another person can require touch. Actual interaction with the individual who needs healing, encouragement, love- it can make the difference between a powerful prayer and an intentional moment of human interaction in the midst of a movement of God. Sometimes the physical touch is exactly what God will use more than anything else!
We don’t know what words Jesus prayed over these mentioned in Luke, but we do know he took the time to reach out and touch the sick. That means we may be called, at times, to lay a hand on someone to help usher in the very healing they need. We see touch used in the Bible in several different ways, even anointing and praying over someone as they step into their ministry calling!
1.) Has anyone ever touched you when they prayed for you? Did it bring comfort or discomfort? Ask God why.
2.) Have you ever touched someone when you prayed for them? Unless you are praying for a close friend, always remember to ask permission before touching someone. Touch is powerful in good and bad ways, so do not assume that your touch will feel comforting to someone.
3.) Dig into God’s Word. Find examples in the Bible of touch being used to transfer blessings, anointing, and healing. Pray for God to show you how you have been using your gift of touch for the benefit of others, and ask how you can increase your obedience to use it when He asks.

Hey girl! Thank you for this great article. I listened to a testimony on yt and there the guy mentions that other people ( maybe he means non-christians) shouldnt touch the one whos prayed for while a christian is praying and laying hands on him- because demons and unclean spirits could enter ( but maybe he means only non-christians)-
however I did not find anything in the Bible about this yet?
Do you have any ideas?
(Second question: do you think unclean spirits always go into others? In the story with the pigs the unclean spirits def needed some other living thing.. but does that mean that when we pray for others to be delivered that their unclean spirits could go into someone else whos not a christian or even try to go into us [though filled with the holy spirit]? )
These question may be quite tough and hard- i hope that you have an answer though..
