Refined: Do the Hard Thing, Day Sixteen

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

1 Peter 4:10

You have completed 15 hours of prayer which now makes you an early bird expert! Let’s finish these last two weeks strong as we continue to let God refine us. If you’ve missed days or getting up early is still too hard, think about changes you may need to make–get to bed earlier, change up your morning routine. You can do this!

Week four is all about refining the way we steward all that God has given us. God’s gifts come in “various forms” whether it be our personality traits, abilities, spiritual gifts, or tangible material things. We received these gifts because of God’s grace, but then we get to make a choice to do the hard thing. We can choose to use every thing we have to glorify God and serve others or hide our gifts in order to self-protect or self-promote.

Are you ready to take a hard look at everything you have and offer it up to God this week?

Let’s Pray:

1.) Ask God what he loves about YOU. Make a list and take note of what are things that come easily for you. Did God say something that surprised you?

2.) Do you have a particular gift you feel God is calling you to use to serve others? What has been holding you back?

3.) Have you found yourself in self-protect (fear) or self-promote (pride) mode when it comes to stewarding your gifts? Confess this to God today and ask Him what you should do next to honor Him with your gifts!
