“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. “
Isaiah 40:31
Keeping our body healthy has physical benefits as well as spiritual. We can have a greater impact serving others when we are in good health. Working out can seem like an overwhelming task when we have a busy schedule that drains us physically, emotionally and spiritually.
God gives us a solution when we feel to worn out or tired: He promises to be our strength! The catch is we have to show up. Showing up means beginning somewhere, anywhere. Take a walk on your lunch break. Park at the back of the parking lot rather than the front. Bad knees? Get in a pool. Bad back? Work on core strength. Shift your mind from it being something you have to do to something you get to do. Celebrate each physical breakthrough just like you would a spiritual breakthrough. Each step you take is a victory!
Let’s Pray:
1.) You’ve made it to the halfway point! Now is when you make the choice to finish strong or fall off. Ask God to restore your energy and remind you why you signed up for #theFives.
2.) Have you had a moment of physical breakthrough? If you feel comfortable, share your testimony with your group. Are you waiting on (praying for) a physical breakthrough? As you pray, listen for God to reveal anything that has been a barrier for you in this area.
3.) Where will you start today? Where has God been leading you to be more active? Choose an attainable goal and commit to it.
